Ambitious plan to establish a multifunctional tourism estate on former fruit and coffee plantation Mariënbosch, located between the north bank of the Commewijne River and the Atlantic Ocean. The programme includes: wellness centre, 80 room hotel, conference centre, restaurant, private lodges, pool, coffee experience museum and renovation of the old planta-tion mansion.Driving concept for wellness, restaurant and lodges, set on the banks of the river, was a system of overlapping circles to create an intricate spatial quality between the different programme elements.The hotel en conference facility honour the rectangular grid of the plantation.
